what inspired you to start the school what a great question we started to learn we were people that were members of Friends Meeting the Quaker Meeting then kind of attached to this I started to learn about Quaker education and all of us have young children ready for school and they were getting ready to go to whatever the public school was labor agitation / 86 cooperation instead of competition and solving problems by talking at all not resorting to that small classes were part of a Quaker education as parents and we thought well we've learned all of that and we visited after school fear of great price it's covering two subs Rancho learning Light Within realized Devin Perry Frisco Founders Edition the stash compassion for the testimony simple gestures kind words of support or deep conversations Friends School teachers and staff are always fully engaged in the growth of all students disagree about decisions we all health benefit the education of the students as are most are inquisitiveness a Hallmark of Friends School is one of the traits I think many of our students Carrie about life and what a life skill to have a firming I've never known to school or Community it was intentional about affirmation students and aunts were always encouraged to be. telenor skill we demonstrated students always found in Courage and nerves when necessary through affirmation and encouragement I believe that many we're discovered and nurtured in our alumni Dan hendy former head of school friends understanding of a grounded education one that feeds one where is instinct is in time these child to use of our future friends Clarity that educating the whole child needs an education that is experimental spiritual and moral and practical as a new member of Friends Meeting In 1980 I was intrigued when I heard of the plan starting preference go in the basement of a house 245 years in the prospect of having a school as part of a meeting he sounded exciting so from the first funfair as an administrator size head and enrolling our children serving on numerous committees a grown up in the local educational Community it wasn't easy to stand independently alongside the strong Public Schools but it later hasn't teachers underscored the Quaker values throughout the grades and secured academic Excellence within the social emotional nurturing of the individual schools made present self 40 years later I am so glad to still be connected want to school bro looking at our country in the world right now but I also know for sure that the students are learning what they need to learn to express yourself on paper animals themselves to create heart issues head-on to have fun and it's happening the years ahead or back I have more that Friends School will always be an exciting and educational experience for everyone who's a part of the community congratulations where we learn to do when I became begin my head chef in the summer of 2001 State College friends school was 20 years old it was a growing Sitel Innovative and necessary School in the area remain so to this day it wasn't his are learning home for children and for some of us to Heaven heart of our social or Social Circle and now we celebrate 40 years when I think about my hope for the next forty years I think about the educational on so impact fence education small But Mighty has had on education in America over the last three hundred and fifty years John Dewey or to collated educational philosophy and harmony with friends teaching methods and purposes emphasizing student experience and their personal construction of knowledge do we maintain that the purpose of school was to give children the opportunity to practice living in a classroom tomorrow. They would become active ethical academically prepared participants in the American democracy this is what's a college from school is done for 40 years and I can think of no more important Mission than for filling out perfect day after day now and in the future that are suing the rock stations more fragile I ever thought I could be I hope fence Co continues its mission to all together academic learning or social responsibility hitting the wrong with young people who exhibit informed analysis creativity a passion for justice and I calling to make their small small party a community a better place to live.
