Through your generosity, we raised $13,600 during Centre Gives. Thank you for supporting students through our Scholarship Fund.
We truly appreciate your support during the Centre Gives 36-hour online fundraising event hosted by Centre Foundation. Since 2012, Centre Foundation has hosted this event to help local non-profit organizations raise funds for their programs. This year, 175 local organizations benefited from this event. We are grateful for the work of the staff at Centre Foundation, the donors to the Foundation who make grant money available to stretch gifts made during Centre Gives, and all the individuals who contribute.
Thank you for joining us during Centre Gives to help us raise funds that support scholarship for families in need of financial assistance. Every gift of $10 or more during Centre Gives was stretched by a grant from Hamer Foundation. Your gift made our little light shine brighter by helping us to serve a broadly diverse student community. Thank you.
What is Centre Gives? - A Quick Overview
Every spring, Centre Foundation organizes a 36-hour online giving event designed to help non-profit organizations raise money for their programs. State College Friends School is an approved Centre Gives organization. Donations made to the Friends School Scholarship Fund are used to provide financial assistance to families who have chosen Friends School for their child's education.

How Does it Work?
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12th and ending at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13th, current school families, grandparents and relatives, alumni, retired teachers, community friends, and business owners, anyone - can give a gift to State College Friends School through this secure link, using a credit or debit card. (Minimum gift is 10.00) At the end of the 36-hour giving event, Centre Foundation will share a percentage of a $200,000 stretch pool grant from the Hamer Foundaton and Centre Foundation thereby raising our total income! (Gifts of $25 or more are stretched with the grant.)
And . . .this year, because of the increased need caused by repercussions from COVID-19, Centre Foundation has added an additional stretch grant of $100,000!

How Does Friends School Use Donations Made through Centre Gives?
We use all funds raised during this 36-hour event to provide financial assistance to a broadly diverse group of families. Each year Friends School provides a flexible tuition plan for families who wish to attend our small independent school built on the Quaker foundation of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship but who need assistance to meet the cost of tuition. This year 70% of our families receive financial assistance (flexible tuition) through the Scholarship Fund. Through Centre Gives and other outreach efforts we raise money to help as many students as is possible to be able to attend State College Friends School. Every single gift made during this event adds to the stretch amount we receive! The more we raise, the more we can help families with tuition support.
