June 17-21: Creative Knitting – from Make it to Market ($210/week)
A brand new camp for all who love to knit, chat, and create! All levels are welcome to attend this week-long camp where participants will receive instruction and encouragement as they learn new stitches, perfect their craft, make their own knitting needles, and create projects to keep, give, or sell. The week includes a day of entrepreneurial skill-building for those who wish to learn the art of marketing their crafts. A field trip to Foxdale Village gives campers an opportunity to learn from long-time stitchers and build relationships with new knitting buddies. (Material and supplies are included in the cost of this camp.)
June 24-28: All Things Dragon ($210/week)
Dragon Camp 1
From the magnificent and fire-breathing, to the tiny and adorable, this week-long camp is for anyone who loves dragons. Camp begins with a quest for the glittering egg. Inside the egg lies the beginning of a new, lifelong friendship with, well . . . a dragon! Participants will enjoy stories, art, cartography, music, crafts, movies, and all things dragons. The week culminates with a field trip to Millbrook Marsh, where campers (and available family members) search for fossils of dragons from days of yore.
July 8-12: Me, Myself, and My Style ($210/week)
This camp starts with a basic white tee shirt and an old pair of shoes! Throughout the week, campers express their unique interests and personalities through customized clothing, shoes, hairstyles, handwriting, and art. All are welcome as we work together with confidence, creativity, and compassion to create a style personal statement.
July 15-19: Rhythm Makers ($210/week)
Tap, snap, stomp, spin, clap in this week-long exploration of percussion instruments. Thought to be the first musical instruments ever invented, percussion instruments are found all around the world. From drums to beatboxing, campers will enjoy learning about different types of percussion instruments, make several different styles of instruments to keep, and enjoy visits from percussion artists from our community. The week culminates in a rousing performance of rhythm and originality.
July 29-August 2: Fairy Tale Mash-up ($210/week)
A Friends School tradition makes a comeback once again! Can you imagine a world where all fairy tales meet? Campers will write and perform their own mixed-up fairy tale, all the while learning the different aspects of acting, costuming, and stage performance. Every camper has an important role in this creative and fun story telling experience. Week culminates in a performance at Foxdale Village.
