Join us October 13-27 the second-ever Get Outside Challenge! This special virtual event is designed to build community, raise funds, and enjoy the great outdoors. It will also launch Friends School's 40th Anniversary celebrations and the 2021-2022 Annual Fund campaign.
Participants are invited run, walk, hike, or bike towards our collective goal of 2,750 miles. As friends log their miles, our community will “travel” across the United States through ten mile markers. By the end of the challenge, we hope to “arrive” in San Francisco for a special virtual visit with two of our school founders, Dayton and Sheri Coles.
Tracking Our Progress
Registered challenge participants can log their miles by clicking the button below.
Remember, if more than one person completes an outdoor excursion, the number of miles gets multiple by the number of participants! Friends School classes will track miles logged at school separately.
Special thanks to the 5/6 Geography class for helping to select our mile markers!

We will post regular updates on our progress throughout the challenge. Follow @statecollegefriendsschool for snapshots from challenge activities and news on the latest mile markers.
