  WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

Inclement Weather Information

Weather-related Delays, Closings, or Early Dismissals

On days when snow, ice, or other natural conditions might make travel hazardous, parents will be alerted by an automated phone call if there is a school closing or delay.  Information can also be found at television and radio-station web sites (see below for links to various sites).  Look and listen for the announcement specifically naming “State College Friends School." Friends School follows the decisions made by the State College Area School District since many of our children use State College’s school buses.

In the case of a delay, please note the following: for a 1-hour delay, doors at Friends School will open at 9:00 am and classes will begin at 9:30 a.m. and for a 2-hour delay, doors at Friends School will open at 10:00 a.m. and classes will begin at 10:30 am. If State College Area schools close early due to weather, Friends School will close, and parents and guardians will be alerted by an automated phone call and an email.  Parents who drive their children are responsible for arranging early transportation home.
