Welcome to State College Friends School!
Here, you will find a vigorous academic community grounded in the Quaker idea that each person has an inner light. This small yet big idea guides everything we do at SCFS, and continually calls us to shape the education experience around the testimonies of equity, integrity, and peacebuilding.
Since 1980, SCFS has operated with intentionally-small class sizes and mixed-grade groupings to ensure that each child is known, supported, challenged, and nurtured by our dedicated faculty. Curricular materials are selected to give many types of learners access to information, and represent diverse perspectives across academic subjects. Students not only become writers, mathematicians, historians, and scientists, but gain the social-emotional skills to be active and compassionate members of their communities.
While our website provides the details you need to know about SCFS, I invite you to visit our campus and see for yourself the impact of a Friends education.
In peace,
Annie Boggess
Interim Head of School
