SCFS was founded under the care of State College Friends Meeting. Located at 611 E. Prospect Avenue, the Meetinghouse was the first home for our school. Members of the Meeting served as founding SCFS teachers and parents in 1980, and still care for the spiritual life of our school today. Quakers from SCFM serve on our Board of Trustees, grounding school governance in the practices of Quaker Meeting for Business. Members of the Meeting also serve on the Board’s Quaker Life Committee, offering programming for students and families to learn more about the ways in which Quaker testimonies shape the outstanding education grounded in a culture of love offered at SCFS.
