Family FAQs

The school day begins at 8:30 am, and doors will open for arrival at 8:00 am. The school day ends at 3:15 pm and after school will begin at 3:30 pm. The school day for Pre-K ends at 3:00 with after school beginning at 3:15 pm.

In the event of a school closure or delay due to inclement weather, you will receive an email and text notification from the school. School closings and delays are also shared on WTAJ, WJAC, and 3WZ Radio. If you would like to make changes to your emergency alert notifications, please contact Elizabeth Smith.

The school office is open during the school year from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and during the summer from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

All students Pre-K to 8th Grade will enter the school through the main entrance. Parents and siblings are permitted to walk students to their classroom for drop off as long as they are in compliance with SCFS Pandemic Guidelines. Pre-K families will sign-in students using their FACTS barcode or 5-digit code.
To request district transportation to or from SCFS, please contact the front office at 814-237-8386 or [email protected]. District transportation is available from SCASD, Bellefonte, Penns Valley, Huntington, and Tyrone.
The FACTS Family Portal is where you will access your financial information that is on file with the school, make tuition payments, view the SCFS family directory, and complete re-enrollment paperwork. 
 
To access your FACTS Family Portal, you can use the link in the Families drop-down menu at the top navigation of the website. Our district code for FACTS is SCF-PA.
Who do I contact for…

Please contact the school office and your classroom teacher before 9:00 am if your student(s) will be absent for the day. You can contact the office by calling 814-237-8386 or emailing [email protected]. If you are planning an extended absence, please contact the office and your classroom teacher prior to the planned absence. 

If your student will be leaving before the end of the school day, please contact your classroom teacher the school office by calling 814-237-8386 or emailing [email protected]. Please include the day and time you plan to pick up your student(s) and whether they will be returning to school. All early dismissals will be picked up in the front office.

If your student(s) will be arriving late, please notify your classroom teacher and the school office at 814-237-8386 or [email protected] before 9:00 am. Upon arrival, late students must enter the building through the front office and sign in to have their attendance recorded before proceeding to their classroom.

If you have a change to your pick-up plans for the day, please contact the school office at 814-237-8386 or email [email protected] as soon as possible so we can alert your child's classroom teacher.
