Meet Annie Boggess '04

A life-long Quaker, Annie comes to the role of Interim Head of School after a decade of service as a classroom teacher and administrator in Friends schools. An SCFS alum, she returned to Friends School as the Director of Development in 2020. Annie has also served as an advocacy educator with the Friends Committee on National Legislation in Washington, D.C. and Serapaz, A.C. in Mexico City, Mexico after graduating from Haverford College, a Quaker college in the Philadelphia area.

In addition to her experience in curriculum development, progressive pedagogy, facilitating Quaker process, and fundraising, Annie brings a passion for life-long learning and Friends School’s mission to offer an outstanding education grounded in the testimonies of equity, peacebuilding, and integrity. She believes that, at its best, Quaker education allows students to discover the light within themselves and others, giving them the confidence and the skills to become thoughtful, active members of their communities and the world. Outside of school, Annie loves learning about history, practicing yoga, and speaking Spanish.
