Meet Heather Forrester

Heather Forrester (she/her) joined State College Friends School in 2023. She double majored in Art Education and Sculpture from the University of Georgia, received a Masters in Ministry Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary, completed 5 units of Clinical Pastoral Education and is endorsed in English Language Learning from Valdosta State University. Prior to teaching, she worked as a Hospital and Hospice Chaplain. She has taught Kindergarten in Hong Kong, middle school and high school art in public and private schools, English virtually to children in China, and taught English and Social Studies to 5th graders for the last several years at a private school in Georgia prior to coming to Friends School.

Heather loves how the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality/equity, and stewardship are woven into everything we do at school. She appreciates being able to teach a progressive curriculum that supports the student being an agent for change in their local and global communities.

Heather has two daughters, two big dogs, and one cat. She loves to travel to new places, but loves all things Italian as Italy is her favorite country to visit. In her free time, Heather likes to watch movies, read, and make art.
