Meet Fernanda
Fernanda (she/her) brings a variety of experiences in nature-inspired, play-based early childhood education as well as her background as a scientist with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and an M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Buenos Aires. An SCFS alumni parent whose children are graduates of the SCFS Pre-K program, Fernanda brings alignment with the Quaker values that guide our work at Friends School and understanding of Montessori philosophy, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, forest schools, and the Suzuki talent education approach to music. Her experience in education includes leading outdoor, play-based Tinkergarten classes, organizing weekly gatherings and field trips as a Wild + Free leader for local homeschooling families, facilitating Forest Explorers groups, and substitute teaching at Nittany Valley Charter School.
