Meet Daniel

Daniel Simonson (he/him) has worked as a teacher and paraprofessional since 2014. His passion for education began with paraprofessional work in a wonderful life skills class in the Philadelphia area. The encouraging environment and rhythm of the school year prompted Daniel to pursue a Masters in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University. That pursuit led all the way up to Massachusetts and then back to his undergraduate alma mater town here in State College. Growing up in a large family in the Philadelphia suburbs where Quaker schools abound, Daniel has long been familiar with Friends’ values and emphasis on inclusivity, and he finds inspiration in the way Friends School promotes student growth and creativity. Outside the classroom, Daniel enjoys hiking and playing tabletop games, an interest he has carried into after-school clubs for students.
