Meet Laura

Laura Boswell grew up in State College, PA and attended the State College Friends School in elementary school, where she discovered her love for the guitar. She graduated from George School in Newtown, PA, and went on to study classical guitar performance and environmental studies at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Also a classical pianist, singer-songwriter, and recording artist, Laura has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. She moved back to Central Pennsylvania in the fall of 2024 after spending 6 years in Asheville, NC where she taught music lessons at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Laura loves hiking, camping, improv comedy, and making ceramic jewelry. She is excited to rejoin the State College Friends School community and is grateful for the Quaker values that continue to shape her life and teaching.
