Meet Siobhan

My name is Siobhan (pronounced: Shiv+awn) Davis.  I am a PA certified elementary middle school math, and special education teacher that has taught in a variety of learning environments including:  The Philadelphia Zoo as a Manager of Conservation Education (leading family programs, teacher programs, homeschool programs and summer camps), the PA Resources Council as the Manager of Central and Eastern PA Environmental Education (leading lessons on energy, recycling and working with a team to develop our PA State Standards for Environment and Ecology), Centre Learning Community Charter School as a project-based learning teacher and 6th grade math teacher and Nittany Valley Charter School as Director of Special Education.

I am looking forward to supporting the students of State College Friends School this year as Student Support Coordinator.  I am elated to work alongside the dedicated, kind and nurturing staff of the Friends School as we individualize learning plans for each student in a learning environment that values each student, parent and the extended members of our learning community. In the past, I have been a member of the Friends School as a parent and am excited for my additional role in our community as a teacher. When I am not at work, you can find me alongside my husband helping out at our family farm (Strong Roots Organic Farm), training/riding horses, involved in citizen science, enjoying live music, hiking, skiing, walking our dogs, swimming or bike riding with our kids.  I love being active in the outdoors with my family and friends!  I look forward to connecting and forming relationships with you in our learning community.
