Extended Day Application_2026-2027

Extended Day Header

State College Friends School’s Extended Day program provides a welcoming, values-guided environment where children can spend the afternoon connecting with peers, exploring creative activities, enjoying a healthy snack, and receiving homework support. The program reflects the Quaker testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Equity, and Stewardship.

Extended Day is offered Monday through Friday when school is in session, from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. The program is open to the public, with transportation currently provided from Easterly Parkway Elementary School, Mount Nittany Middle School, and local charter and non-public schools.

The monthly cost is $375 for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Applications will be reviewed based on available program capacity. Families will be notified if State College Friends School is able to offer their child a space in the Extended Day program. Submitting an application does not guarantee placement.

Extended Day Withdrawal Policy

Enrollment in the Extended Day program is intended to be a full-school-year commitment. Because spaces are limited and are reserved for participating students, families who wish to withdraw a student during the school year must provide at least 30 calendar days’ written notice.

Notice must be submitted to the school administration and will be effective on the date it is received. Families remain responsible for all program fees that fall within the 30-day notice period, including the full monthly fee for any month that has already begun.

Extended Day fees are paid in advance at the beginning of each month. Payments are nonrefundable and will not be prorated for absences, unused days, school closures, or a student’s withdrawal during a prepaid month.

Failure to attend the program or to submit payment does not constitute notice of withdrawal. The student will remain enrolled, and the family will remain financially responsible, until the required written notice has been received and the 30-day notice period has ended.

Exceptions may be considered by the school in cases of relocation, withdrawal from the student’s daytime school, or other significant circumstances, at the school’s sole discretion.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Extended Day Withdrawal Policy. I understand that enrollment is intended to be a full-school-year commitment and that at least 30 calendar days’ written notice is required to withdraw my student during the school year. I understand that I am responsible for all fees due during the 30-day notice period, including the full monthly fee for any month that has already begun. I also understand that payments are nonrefundable and will not be prorated for absences, unused days, school closures, or withdrawal during a prepaid month.*
