Meet Rachel

Rachel Tresnan (she/her) has spent the majority of her life in preschool. She was raised by a preschool teacher. She served in the Minnesota Reading Corps at the preschool level after completing her bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota, Morris. She taught preschoolers at a daycare between earning her Master of Arts in English and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State. She took a brief break from preschool to teach at State College Friends Middle School. However, she worked hard to bring curiosity and play to her Humanities lessons, because she still firmly believed Big Kids deserve preschool magic, too. Preschool has simply always felt like home to her--and now she aspires to help it feel like home to Friends School's littlest learners.

Rachel believes in making sure each child understands they are deeply known and deeply valued. She focuses on fostering community and connection in the classroom to ensure children feel safe, seen, and celebrated. She loves to read aloud, sing silly songs about early literacy skills, and blow bubbles. Her favorite children's books are Adam Rubin's Dragons Love Tacos and Doreen Cronin's Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type. She is so excited to read them to your child.
