Meet Carrie Koch

Carrie (she/her) lives in State College with her husband John; two adult children, Rebecca and Kat; and a two kitties, Princess Buttercup and Sir Isaac Tucker McFluffington. Carrie graduated from Penn State with a BS in Elementary Education, a minor in Psychology, and an MS in Curriculum and Instruction, Reading Specialist. Her math experience and passion came from tutoring for at least a decade. Her art experience was acquired through teaching art camps at the Art Alliance in Lemont for many years. Carrie joined the SCFS faculty in 2019 as a math teacher and Pre-K assistant and is now co-lead teacher of Middle School, teaching math and English/Language Arts, and the K-8 art teacher. Carrie is constantly impressed by the diversity of experience in a Quaker education and the cohesiveness of the community. Carrie has lots of hobbies that she never has time to do including crocheting, reading, and occasionally feeding her family.
